Summer Animation Workshop 2010

We are accepting APPLICATIONS (click here) for a TWO-WEEK Summer Animation Workshop to be held from 1.8.2010 until 15.8.2010. Film School Zlín and the Animation Studios in Zlín are opening their doors again for the fourth year running, to host a workshop in English for anyone interested in learning the basics of creating traditional animation. This workshop also gives participants the opportunity to learn about the cultural and film history of the Czech Republic. The program also includes several excursions, such as a weekend trip to the countryside for outdoor pixillation and sculpting, a visit to a traditional Moravian wine cellar, and other cultural and social events.

Anyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to attend. No prior experience with animation is necessary. Students will learn the basics of pre-production, production and post-production for traditional stop-motion puppet animation, paper cut-out, 2D drawn, pixillation, and relief animation (sand, paint on glass, plasticine). If you have an interest in traditional animation or just have an interest in Czech culture, we welcome you to apply for a place in our summer animation workshop!

The Summer Animation Workshop has a limited capacity of 15 places, the deadline for applications being June 30th, 2010. Please note that the workshop registration is on first come-first serve basis, with your written confirmation and the workshop payment being the only guarantee of participation.
